Have you ever noticed how sometimes people who are in the most need are the happiest and most grateful?
Sometimes it takes getting knocked down to truly see what our blessings are. I noticed that this week while reading my book to children at our local food pantry. People were truly thankful for the food they received. Even the little children were appreciative that someone would read them a story and give them a page to color.
We often forget to be thankful when things are going our way. The many extra blessings we receive may get in the way of us seeing what’s most important of all. A flat tire makes us late for an appointment, but we “have” a car to drive. Misbehaving children make us forget what a true blessing children are. Extra work at our job may make us forget that this job puts food on our table.
Try to remember these things when you are stressed. Blessings are all around us. You just have to remember to look!
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Col. 3:15
Blessings, Marie
